Richard Bassey is a Gospel song writer, Musical director, Producer and Musician.


Richard Bassey hails from Mkpok Community in Onna LGA of Akwa-Ibom State, Nigeria.


He is the son of Akpan ndak Offong ekpotu popularly known as Bishop Afro from Akwa-Ibom state.


He has a divine call into the industry with multiple talents by the sovereignty grace of the almighty who qualified the un-qualified.

Initially, he has been in the secular world doing some songs but to no avail.


But when the fullness of time caught up with him to fulfilled a divine mandate, which have been predestine before the foundation of the world.


The lord called him into the ministering of song to his glory. And by this, Richard Bassey has recorded over 5 studio Gospel songs.


He started the Gospel work in 2018 with a track titled " Thank You Jesus".

After a long run without any release, everyone thought he gave up.


Then after 2years and 8months, Richard Bassey returned with a full bundle of tracks which are surprisingly singles and not albums with all of it online across all platforms and countries.

Currently in 2026, he has released 6 tracks and has shown versatility and prowess in his ministerial movements.
